Sanskrit: Karuṇā (करुणा)
= the compassionate desire to remove suffering.
Karuna's mission is to make the world a happier place by unleashing compassion.
With the use of evidence-based sciences, ancient wisdom, and our model of compassionate service, we intend to break the vicious cycle of abuse and poverty.
We are a social cause enterprise committed to dedicating 10% of all sales and 50% of all net profits to:
EMPOWERING youth & women
SUPPORTING early childhood education
FUNDING wellbeing research
We put science into direct, measurable action through our mental retreats and our ACCESS 360 Approach, thereby catalyzing radical transformation on the individual, community, and global level.
Impact is the beating heart of Karuna. Our social impact has the power to spread across the world as we direct substantial profits from the Karuna Journeys to help break the vicious cycle of poverty and abuse among at-risk children, youth, and women.
“One of the secrets of inner peace is the practice of compassion.”
― His Holiness, The Dalai Lama
Karuna is not a new concept, nor is it a creation of any one person’s mind stream. As Buddha pronounced more than 2,600 years ago, Karuna is pure consciousness present in every human being, and its birth is indistinguishable from its primary existence. Similarly, Karuna, as imagined in this social enterprise, has no firm beginnings. Its seed was sown many years ago — perhaps many lifetimes ago. Karuna first came into this incarnation during a deep meditation in January 2016 and has grown to become a social enterprise idea with the goal of helping to create a sustainable life-path for children, youth, and women who have suffered unspeakable abuse, trauma, and abandonment.
This is how it all began…
WHAT WE VALUE
COMPASSION for all and for the self
HUMILITY in failure and in success
GRATITUDE for all the blessings
TRANSPARENCY in everything we do
RESILIENCE to stay anchored in our values
